7 Best Dual Density Dildos In 2022 (Silicone & Double Layer)

We tested all the best dual density dildos out there in 2022. In this guide, we rate the softest, most realistic, good cheap ones all in one place! Read on:

Once you go dual-density, you can never go back.

Dual-density dildo feels more realistic than its single-layered counterparts because of the contrast: soft outer layer, firm core. It pretty much feels like an erect penis! You know, how the skin moves as you grip its hard-on.

It’s also the sweet middle ground of not-flopping-around and not-painfully-rigid. Soft for easy insertion yet stable enough for thrusting so that you can target your pleasure hotspots comfortably.

Lots and lots of dual-density dildos are around. So what’s the best dual-density dildo? Well, the best for one person might not be what’s best for you. Of course, there’s no single correct answer – as long as they’re made in silicone!

Are you on a budget? Do you want the most realistic? Are you looking for a large dildo or one to stimulate your G-spot or P-spot?

Don’t worry. We’ve got it covered. To start, here are the top three dual-density dildos you can find:

SexualAlpha Top Pick

Vixen Mustang VixSkin offers the best realism for its price and the right balance of its dual-density – squishy outer layer and firm inner core. Mustang’s shaft curves upward at just the best angle to stimulate your G-spot or P-spot. It also has a ridged texture under the head that adds more stimulation as you thrust it.

Budget Pick

Blush Neo Elite is a budget-friendly dual-density dildo that packs a lot for its price. It has a realistic design – veiny shaft, swollen balls, bulbous head – on a dildo in more fun colors (neon pink and orange!). It’s also just the right size for beginners.

Upgrade Pick

The Rolls-Royce of dual-density dildos, RealCock 2 Dirk is the most realistic dildo you can buy. Each dildo is handcrafted with the most careful details of a real penis and comes in three layers, so it feels just like a real penis. Its floating balls also add to the lifelike sexperience with Dirk.

  • Great realism in sensations
  • Softest and squishiest outer layer
  • For G-spot and prostate massage
  • Suction cup isn’t the strongest
  • Feels quite tacky

Vixen Mustang VixSkin would have probably come up a few times when you were looking for the most realistic dildo. Well, this one has a cult following and is always one of the favorites. And for many good reasons.

TBH, I had the urge not to go with the “obvious” best one, but it would be a disservice not to give Mustang the recognition it deserves.

You can’t go wrong with Vixen’s VixSkin line. It’s not cheap, but it’s not too expensive. You’d typically have to spend more on something that feels similar.

Mustang has a really good dual-density blend. It feels SUPER soft and squishy. Squeezing and clenching around it feels really good. Trust me.

Its rigid yet bendable core then balances it. The realism of Mustang feels like pounding an erect penis, but it’s comfortable.

And because it’s not too hard, you won’t get off too fast. Not a bad thing for me as its slower buildup is soooo good.

Mustang and Neo Elite are similar in length (7.5 inches). But you can go deeper with the Mustang (up to 6.5 inches) because it has no balls, unlike Neo Elite.

It also feels quite tacky without lube, and it could attract dust and lint. It also absorbs a lot of lube, so applying a generous amount is necessary.

But when it’s all lubed and glistening, it’s exquisite as it slides in and out.

I also love its bulbous head and curved shaft – it hits and massages the G-spot and P-spot just right.

  • Best quality for its price
  • Affordable
  • Many sizes and color options
  • No skin tone colors

Whenever anyone asks me for suggestions of an affordable and good dual-density dildo, I always recommend Blush Neo Elite.

It’s quite hard to find any other dildo with similar quality at its price point. Of course, it’s not perfect. Some dildos feel better. But you’d also have to spend more dollars on them.

Neo Elite is perfect if you’re on a budget, a first-time buyer, or you’re just starting to explore dual-density dildos (or dildos, in general) and don’t want to splurge.

It’s an easy toy, to begin with. The tapered head makes sliding it in easy for anal. Meanwhile, it has just the average size (both length and girth) for you to feel full while not being too overwhelming.

And if it’s not the right size for you, it has many other size options, from a smaller 6-inch (length) dildo to the bigger 9-, 10- and 11-inch dongs.

Neo Elite looks pretty realistic (with its veins and balls), except for its colors. It might be a bummer if you want a truly lifelike one as it doesn’t come in skin-tone colors.

But, I personally like its bright Neon Pink and Neon Orange options for something unique in my collection.

Its outer layer is soft but not as squishy soft as the Vixen Mustang (which we’ll talk about later). But still, for its price, it’s already really good. And its suction cup is powerful as well!

Its shaft slightly curves upward, which helps you easily stimulate your G-spot or P-spot.

3. RealCock 2 Dirk

Diameter:

Suction cup base:
Vac-U-Lock
Harness compatible:
Vac-U-Lock

Colors:

Price:

  • Most realistic dildo
  • With floating testicles
  • Triple-layer dildo
  • With Vac-U-Lock
  • Priciest on this list
  • Large base can be difficult to hold

RealCock 2 Dirk is the most realistic dildo money could buy. Period.

RealCock is the Michelin-star meal for the connoisseur. The craftsmanship that goes into each Realcock dildo is unreal. The coloring and all the tiny details in the veins (and heck, freckles!) that are hand-painted attest to that.

Dirk doesn’t have just two layers. It has three! It has a firm core and soft outer layer. The third layer lies on the outermost with the veins and coloring that slides, which they call the Sil-Slide™ Technology.

Its finish isn’t as tacky as the Vixen Mustang. It’s also not too draggy, and the textures don’t rub roughly. But – don’t skip your lube. It still sticks a little.

Dirk is all about realism, so it also has floating balls. It might not be fascinating to you, but hear me out. These floating testicles are also multi-layered and separate from the shaft. So, you can move it around.

But is it also realistic to use? Well, yes, of course!

Dirk’s bulbous head is soft but not too mushy. You’ll feel it as it goes in, but comfortably. Dirk is thick, round, and pretty long, so he will make you feel full.

It could be quite hard to hold when you’re thrusting (especially if you have small hands) as it has a large base. Thanks to its Vac-U-Lock, it works better when you use it with a sex machine or suction cup.

Best for Spot Stimulation

4. Uberrime Splendid

Material:
Silicone
Total length:

Insertable length:

Diameter:
1.67”
Suction cup base:

Harness compatible:

Colors:
Pearl Pink to Pearl White, Amethyst Purple to Pearl White
Price:
$$
  • Very curved shaft for G-spot and P-spot stimulation
  • Textured shaft
  • Beautiful artisan dildo
  • No suction cup base

Uberrime Splendid is another favorite that I pick up when I’m in the mood for G-spot stimulation. And that’s a lot of times.

Thanks to its very curved shaft, it’s the best shape (along with Vixen Mustang VixSkin) for massaging the G-spot and P-spot. No more hurting and straining your wrist to hit the right angle. Splendid does it for you.

Splendid shares a couple of similarities with Vixen Mustang. In fact, most people get torn in choosing between the two.

Mustang is smoother and squishier. Great if you want an effortless glide and comfortable penetration with exciting orgasm build-up.

Splendid has more veiny textures that you can still feel when lubed. Its head is also wider and stretches you out more as it goes in. It stays wider than Mustang under the ridge, while Mustang tapers down on its shaft.

Splendid is still very soft but not as squishy soft as Mustang.

Personally, I pick one up depending on what I’m looking for as they both offer great but different sensations.

Splendid’s lower price tag is one good thing to consider, though. And if you don’t mind not having a suction cup base.

Anyways, I love having Uberrime Splendid on my nightstand. The gradient marble colors are so pretty!

Best Big Dual-Density Dildo

5. Evolved Luminous Stud

Material:
Silicone
Total length:
10.5”
Insertable length:
8”
Diameter:
2”
Suction cup base:
Yes
Harness compatible:
Yes
Anal safe:
Yes
Colors:
Glow in the dark
Price:
$
  • Glows in the dark
  • Affordable
  • Large-sized dildo
  • Sometimes has tiny air bubbles

Evolved Luminous Stud is a dual-density dildo that you can SEE. Yep, the two layers are visible. The outer skin is transparent, and you can see the inner purple core.

Not only that, it glows in the dark too! Fun!

You can have fun playing in the dark with it and have no fear of it getting lost in your sheets as it lights up. Just “charge” it by letting it sit in sunlight or LED light before playing with it in the dark.

I would recommend this if you’re looking for something for a lifelike dildo, but you’re over the usual lifelike look. And if you want a large and affordable dong that feels realistic.

The outside layer feels amazing combined with the large size as it’s very soft and squeezable. Meanwhile, the firm inner core does a good job keeping the dildo stable considering its longer length.

It measures 10.5 inches, with 8 inches that’s insertable. Thrusting something this long would be floppy if it isn’t rigid, but Luminous Stud can maintain its shape.

Luminous Stud is an affordable dildo that’s dual-density AND made in silicone. So, you can expect it isn’t perfect. For one, it’s mass-produced, unlike handmade dildos such as Vixen Mustang and Realcock. Hence, it’s cheaper and can sometimes have tiny air bubbles.

The surface isn’t flawless as well, with small dents and nicks. It doesn’t affect the dildo’s quality, so you should try Stud if you can overlook that. It makes you feel full + not that draggy + has good suction cups.

Best Hands-Free Action

6. ColourSoft By NSNovelties

Material:
Silicone
Total length:
10”
Insertable length:
7.3”
Diameter:
1.8”
Suction cup base:
Yes
Harness compatible:
Yes
Anal safe:
Yes
Colors:
Pink, Purple, Brown, White (light brown)
Price:
$
  • Realistic dual-density dildo
  • Has flesh-like colors
  • Strong suction cup
  • Can get sticky

NS Novelties Colours is another pretty popular budget-friendly dual-density dildo. Like Blush Neo Lite, it also has a realistic design.

It comes in various colors, but unlike Blush Neo Lite, this one has more flesh-like color options. So if you’re into a more realistic-looking dong, Colours might be better for you.

Note that it’s also bigger, so it isn’t for everyone. (Or, you may go for its 5-inch variant.) But, I find the squish feels better and more realistic on the bigger dildo (the 8-inch one) because of its girth.

NS Novelties Colours’ strong suction cup makes this one really reliable for going hands-free.

You can stick it on your wall, floor, door, and whatnot, and do your thing. It’s soft on the outside but firm on the inside, so it won’t flop around as you thrust.

It has prominent vein textures that you can feel. It’s good if you’re into it but not so good if you’re sensitive.

It does get quite sticky. You would need to use a good amount of lube for it to feel good during thrusting.

The balls aren’t squishy and don’t feel too realistic when you squeeze them. They’re quite firm and feel quite awkward during use. But for the price, I can vibe with it.

Best Non-realistic Dildo

7. Tantus Cush O2

Material:
Silicone
Total length:
7.5”
Insertable length:
7”
Diameter:
1.75”
Suction cup base:
No
Harness compatible:
Yes
Anal safe:
Yes
Colors:
Purple Twilight, Candy Pink
Price:
$
  • Tapered tip for easy insertion
  • Thick shaft
  • Two ridge textures for stimulation
  • No suction cup

Tantus Cush O2 still has a phallic shape, but it doesn’t look like a P. Get this if you want the realistic feel of a dildo, but not the realistic look.

Its shape (with its head) makes it seem lifelike. But its colors (which come in a pretty gradient of white-to-pink and white-to-purple) also let it fall a bit under the fantasy realm.

The tapered tip and squishy feel make inserting the dildo very easy – it just glides in. But it’s quite girthy, and its thickness stays pretty much the same throughout the shaft (it doesn’t taper down).

Make sure you’re warmed up, stretched out, and ready before taking it all the way in.

Cush’s shaft is straight, so stimulating your G-spot or P-spot won’t be too targeted or intense. It’s not a bad thing, though. You’ll get the two ridges instead as it slides in and out that feels exquisite, especially anally.

One thing I would’ve liked on the Cush is a suction cup base. It also hogs on lube quite often, so have enough in hand when you play with it.

Dual-Density Dildo Buying Guide

Mind the material

Dual-density dildos are usually made from these materials:

  • Silicone
  • TPR (thermoplastic rubber)
  • TPE (thermoplastic elastomer)

Let’s cut to the chase. Which one’s the best?

Silicone.

It’s nonporous, body-safe, feels skinlike, and very durable. But, they’re usually more expensive.

USUALLY, but not always. In fact, there are many affordable silicone dildos (and we’ve listed the best ones here).

Why not TPE or TPR? They’re porous. Translation: NOT skin-safe.

They harbor bacteria (that could lead to infections as dildos get in contact with your most sensitive areas) no matter how much you clean them.

The only way you can avoid it is when you use a condom. But who wants a condom on their dildo anyway?

Size up or size down

You have to mind three things when you pick your dildo:

  1. Total length
  2. Insertable length
  3. Girth

Sellers always give you a dildo’s total length – the dildo’s measurement from end to end. The more important number you should mind, though, is the insertable length, as this is what actually goes inside your hole.

Basically, how deep or shallow you want to go.

Then, the girth. It could be difficult to insert if it’s too thick, while you might not be able to feel it much if it’s too thin.

Start small, as a rule of thumb.

You wouldn’t want to buy a dildo you won’t end up using because it’s uncomfortably big and painful.

No point of reference? Well, an average penis measures around 5 inches long and 1.46 inches wide.

If you want the sensation of feeling full, size up. Some dildos are extra long for depth play. They may be girthy, but there are also long yet thinner ones.

Short and stout dildos are also available if you’re into stretching but don’t want too much depth.

Looks and designs

Dual-density dildos come in various designs.

Most of them look realistic as it pretty much offers realism in sensation. The lifelikeness of these dildos can be insane! Some have detailed veins, swollen balls, a bulging head, and skin tone colors. RealCock 2 Dirk even has colored veins that look like the real thing.

But, there are also non-anatomic designs and colors if you’re not into the penis look. Like, get a glow-in-the-dark dildo named Luminous Stud or something.

And if you want to take it a step further, go for fantasy options!

Texture or nah?

The designs on your dual-density dildo aren’t just for visuals. They do something for sensations too.

Smooth dildos are better if you’re sensitive. Untextured dongs are very easy to glide in and out.

Go for dildos with texture if you want more stimulation. Bumps, ridges, and veins will massage you from inside. Some also have textures to target pleasure points specifically.

Safety, always

Safety is the most important aspect of a dildo. We’ve already discussed the material and size.

In addition, be mindful of your use – particularly anal.

Your rectum doesn’t have a point of return – unlike a vagina. So, your dildo should have a flared base to anchor it outside your body.

Extra features

Want some hands-free action? Get a dildo with a suction cup base.

You can stick it to any flat surface like the floor, desk, table, door, or wall. Or use it in the shower. This lets you ride the dildo or get pounded by it doggy-style while leaving your hands free to explore your body. Play with your nips, rub your clit… the world is your oyster.

Harness compatibility is also something to look at so you can use it with your partner or a sex machine. This is also great if you’re exploring pegging.

FAQ

What is a dual-density dildo, exactly?

A dual-density dildo is a phallic-shaped sex toy made up of two layers. The outer layer (the one you can touch) is soft, while the inner layer is firm.

Okay, what’s the point? Realism!

Dual-layered dildos feel more realistic than single-density dongs. Its outer core is soft and squishy – almost skinlike. Inside, it’s firm because it tries to mimic an erect penis’ hardness.

It’s basically the best of both worlds. It’s not too soft to be floppy and not too hard to be painful.

Why choose a dual-density dildo over a single-layered dildo?

Top three reasons:

  1. It’s more realistic.
  2. It’s comfortable.
  3. Yet, it’s stable.

Single-layer dildos are either soft or firm.

A soft, squishy dildo is comfortable to use. But, it will be hard to hit the right spot as it easily bends away. (For example, you want to target your G-spot.) Thrusting too hard would be difficult as well as the dildo will flop around, especially if it’s quite long.

On the other hand, a firm dildo would be able to hold its shape well. But, it could be painful, especially if it’s big. Textured dongs might also be too stimulating when it’s very hard.

So, if you want one that’s squishy to touch but is still stable, go for dual-density dildos. And it feels more similar to a penis because of this contrast in density.

See, when you masturbate a penis, the skin moves, yet you can feel the hard erection. It’s trying to mimic that.

How to clean a dual-density dildo?

Dual-density dildos are usually made of waterproof materials. You can wash them with water and gentle soap.

Easy-peasy, especially if you have a nonporous toy (ahem, silicone)

Porous toys might be trickier to clean as they can trap bacteria even if you wash them.

I know cleaning your dildo isn’t one of the fun things of owning it. So why do it?

First, to prevent infections.

Second, so it lasts long.

Final Thoughts

Dual-density dildos feel really good and realistic, so they’re worth trying if you don’t have one yet. Or if you’re planning to grow your collection. Plus, there’s always at least one for you regardless of what you’re looking for – spot stimulation, budget-friendly, most realistic, and so on.
