When it comes to sex toys, I’m always looking for the most bang for my buck. When I saw the price tag of the Doxy Die Cast, I was taken aback and asked myself, “Why the hell is this so expensive?” I mean, it’s not like I was expecting a $10 massager or anything.

But then, I heard many people talk about the Doxy Die Cast and how it compares to the famous Magic Wand Original (formerly Hitachi Magic Wand), and I thought, “Wait a second–What’s the catch?”

So, I took the plunge and ordered the Doxy Die Cast to see for myself what all the fuss was about.

Now that I’ve got the answer, I decided to write this review to spill facts about this massager, including its specs, my experience with it so far, and how it compares to other vibrating wands.

The Good

The Doxy Die Cast has an impressive amount of power, a.k.a. vibration intensity, which is perfect for me since I like my toys to pack deep, strong, and rumbly vibrations. Its design is sleek and sexy, and its aluminum body is pretty damn sturdy and very comfortable to hold. Not to mention, its head is made of premium silicone that feels good against the skin.

The Not So Good

The Doxy Die Cast’s price is relatively high compared to other vibrating wands on the market. It also has no features you’d usually expect in higher-priced models, such as waterproofing, rechargeability, and app control. Lastly, it is quite heavy and a bit inconvenient to carry around, especially with its very looooong cord.

The Bottom Line

The Doxy Die Cast is a solid choice for power queens, only if you don’t mind the extra money it costs. However, if you’re just looking for a cheap massager, you might want to check out our alternatives below.

Doxy Die Cast is for you if:

  • You love rumbly solid vibrations and deep throbbing sensations.
  • You’re looking for a massager that is durable and looks classy.
  • You want a toy that can be used without batteries.
  • You enjoy cycling through vibration speeds.

Doxy Die Cast is not for you if:

  • You prefer a toy with more vibration patterns than just speed.
  • You like a more affordable toy.
  • You prefer using portable, cordless massagers.

What Is Doxy Die Cast?

The Die Cast is a wand massager for your pleasuring needs. It can make powerful rumbling vibrations and is typically both pro and beginner-friendly. The toy’s material is also medical-grade silicone, making it safe and smooth.

If you like to travel, you can also use the Die Cast in whichever country you’re in, as it can come in different voltages. All you have to do is buy a travel adaptor, and you’re good to go.

Unboxing Doxy Die Cast

doxy wand

The Doxy Die Cast arrived in an enormous yet discreet white box with only the name “DOXY” printed on it. It’s covered in transparent plastic to prevent it from getting dirty or scratched.

When I opened the box, I was surprised to find it inside its own hard case for extra protection. This is a really thoughtful design since the case protects the toy from accidental damage and scratches during transport.

Then, I unzipped the case and unveiled the Doxy Die Cast itself, along with a power cord and user manual.

Doxy Die Cast: How It Looks and Feels

doxy wand

My Doxy Die Cast comes in a shiny metallic purple color, with a black matted head. It has a sleek, modern design, with a cylindrical body and a rounded head that resembles a microphone.

Its head is made of body-safe silicone that is quite rigid but very comfortable to touch. It is extremely smooth and feels amazing when I run my fingers across its surface. The head is connected to the handle by a flexible neck that allows you to target your erogenous zones easily.

The rest of its cylindrical body is made of a metal alloy, which gives it a sturdy, reliable feel.

The lower portion of the handle is curved for ergonomic grip and comfort. The Doxy logo is engraved into the upper portion of the metal case, which adds a nice touch of class and sophistication.

There are three buttons on the front side of the toy’s body. The upper button turns it on and off, while the middle and lower buttons change the toy’s vibration speed.

These buttons are clearly labeled, so you’ll know exactly what each button does. In addition, these buttons are LED-lit, making them easy to see even in the dark.

It weighs 680 grams (without the cord) which is a bit heavier than some other vibrators I’ve used before. But the good thing is that the added weight enhances the pressure and intensity of its vibrations which can feel more pleasurable.

The massager comes with a 12-foot power cord, which is long enough to allow you to move freely while using it. You don’t have to worry about accidentally pulling and unplugging the cord during use.

However, the cord is not detachable, so it’s a bit inconvenient to store and carry around.

Pro Tip

Do not carry the Doxy Die Cast by its power cord, and avoid wrapping the power cord around its body.

Key Functionalities of Doxy Die Cast

Vibration Power

The Doxy Die Cast produces extremely powerful rumbly vibrations that will stimulate not only your clit and vulva but also your inner labia and vagina.

Unlike other vibrators, this massager’s higher speed settings do not necessarily translate to shallower, buzzy vibrations. While it’s more powerful than the average wand, it can provide refined vibrations for a DEEP MASSAGE that is rather satisfying.

This wand has six built-in vibration speeds ranging from low to high.

At the lowest setting, it can produce vibrations with an intensity of 3,000 RPM; at its highest setting, it can produce vibrations up to 9,000 RPM. *Wow!*

The vibrations are strong enough to feel through your whole body and create a pleasurable sensation that goes straight to your core.

It also features a pulse vibration pattern that allows you to enjoy escalating vibrations. You can adjust the pulse speed by pressing the + and – buttons until you reach your desired setting. This extra touch of customizability is a nice feature that adds to the overall experience.

Noise Levels

The Doxy Die Cast’s vibrating motor is a bit louder than most vibrating wands, but the power and intensity of its vibrations are unmatched at the same frequency levels.

The noise it emits ranges from medium-frequency to high-frequency buzz, depending on its vibration setting. The higher the speed, the louder the sound.

For instance, it produces noise measuring 44 decibels at the lowest speed. As you increase the speed of the vibrations, you will hear a higher pitch accompanied by a louder buzzing sound. At the highest speed, the sound frequency measures 61 decibels.

If you want to muffle the sound of the vibrations, you can use a cloth to cover the toy’s head, which will reduce the intensity and volume of the vibration to a much quieter level.

Other Features

The Die Cast has three other notable features.

It has a memory function, which helps you default the speed from your previous settings. It’s easy to clean. And finally, the toy comes with LED buttons

Doxy Original Wand Massager vs. Doxy Die Cast: What’s the Difference?

doxy massager

The Doxy Original Wand Massager and Doxy Die Cast look quite similar at first glance.

They have the same design, length, head circumference, and even vibration power. However, if you pay attention closely, you will notice that they differ in many aspects.

First off, the Doxy Original Wand Massager uses a PVC head that is prone to deterioration, especially if it gets wet. It also attracts bacteria, which is not ideal for hygiene purposes.

On the other hand, the Doxy Die Cast features a silicone head that is not only more durable but also body-safe.

Moreover, the Doxy Die Cast’s handle is made of alloy, while the Doxy Original Wand Massager is plastic. The latter’s buttons are also not luminous, while the Doxy Die Cast’s buttons light up with blue.

Last but definitely not least, fewer vibrations are transmitted to the handle of the Doxy Die Cast, making it much easier to hold and use for a prolonged period.

How to Use Doxy Die Cast

doxy die cast 3

Using the Doxy Die Cast is pretty simple. As mentioned above, it has a dedicated button that powers the toy on and off and two more buttons to control its vibration speed. But first off, you need to ensure that your toy is plugged into a power socket for it to function.

Button Functions

To switch on the toy, briefly press the power button.

Its vibrating motor’s speed is controlled using the two other buttons below the power button marked with positive and negative symbols. You can adjust the speed of the vibrations by pressing the corresponding button.

I recommend moving the massager slowly in a circular motion on your skin to provide a comfortable, stimulating sensation.

Focusing the vibrations on one area may cause numbness which you may want to avoid. You can apply water-based lube to the massager head and the area that is being stimulated.

To activate the pulse setting, you need to turn on the device by pressing the power button for three seconds.

Once activated, you will feel the vibration speed escalating from the lowest to the highest setting. You may adjust the acceleration speed by pressing the + and – buttons.

To switch off the massager, press the power button again and unplug it.

NOTE: You don’t need to press the massager head hard against the area you want to stimulate. The toy is heavy enough to apply the right pressure.

My Experience with the Doxy Die Cast

First and foremost, I was impressed with the Doxy Die Cast’s sleek, feminine design and glittery finish. It feels very luxurious and high-quality.

I like the fact that its head is made of body-safe silicone.

Its buttons are also made of silicone, making them easier to press. They are also luminous, allowing me to adjust the vibration speed without getting up in bed and turning on the lights at night. That’s a problem that I had to deal with before using the toy’s predecessor.

In terms of vibration power, Doxy massagers are UNMATCHED.

The Die Cast provides intense and deep stimulation, perfect for quick orgasms.

However, when I’m not fully aroused, I find its vibrations numbing and a bit irritating, even at the lowest setting. To avoid this from happening again, I usually apply a little water-based lubricant to the head and the area I want to stimulate.

Despite not being cordless, I still like that it comes with a very long power cord, allowing me to move it around easily.

On the other hand, it’s pretty heavy and bulky, especially when stored in its hard case, which makes it a little difficult to bring during a trip.

How to Clean the Doxy Die Cast

Before and after each use, wipe the silicone head with a damp cloth. Do not submerge it in water because it isn’t waterproof.

NOTE: Do not use alcohol-based cleaners as this can damage the head’s material.

Doxy Die Cast Price, Where To Buy

You can buy the Doxy Die Cast online at SheVibe for $189.99. If you’re from the US, you won’t have to spend extra on the shipping fee. It also comes with a one-year warranty.

What Do Other People Think About the Doxy Die Cast?

Doxy Die Cast is an all-time great powerhouse – stronger than the 3 and most everything else in that class. Definitely the Doxy Die Cast if you are comparing those two.

The motor isn’t bigger than the regular one, but the density of the Die Cast puts more vibration out the end than the whole thing shaking around.

Doxy Die Cast Alternatives

Doxy Die Cast vs. Doxy 3 and Doxy 3R

Doxy Die Cast is longer than the newer Doxy 3 and Doxy 3R, which both measure 11 inches. Both also have smaller heads measuring 1.8 inches in diameter compared to that of Doxy Die Cast, which measures 2.5 inches, making it perfect for targeting your erogenous spots. They’re also lighter at only 350 grams.

Unlike the Doxy Die Cast and the Doxy 3, the Doxy 3R is rechargeable and can last up to 1 hour of continuous use when fully charged.

In terms of vibration power and speeds, there is no major difference between them, but the Doxy Die Cast is more rumbly.

If you’re looking for a cheaper Doxy massager, go for Die Cast. But if you’re looking for a cordless toy with a smaller head and don’t mind spending extra money, then go for Doxy 3R. If you want something in between, go for Doxy 3.

Doxy Die Cast vs. Magic Wand Original and Magic Wand Plus

The Magic Wand Original and Magic Wand Plus are less powerful in vibrations (capable of producing 6,000 to 6,300 RPMs, respectively). Still, they are way cheaper and have been popular for a while now.

Their size is almost the same as the Doxy Die Cast. However, their bodies are made of plastic, while the Doxy Die Cast is made of metal, making it more appealing.

The Magic Wand Original has only two built-in vibration speeds, while the Magic Wand Plus has four, making them inferior to the Doxy Die Cast, which has six speed modes and a bonus pulse pattern. The vibrations emitted by the Doxy Die Cast are more refined and deep.

I’d give the Magic Wand Plus a higher score for portability and storability because its cord is detachable.

If you’re looking for the cheapest massager capable of emitting powerful vibrations, then the Magic Wand Original is the one for you.

NOTE: Magic Wand Original and Plus attachments are compatible with Doxy Die Cast.

Doxy Die Cast vs. Le Wand

If you’re looking for a more versatile massager with more vibration speeds and patterns, Le Wand is the best choice. Le Wand has 10 built-in vibration speeds and 20 patterns you can change on the fly.

Like Magic Wand products, this toy is made of silicone and ABS plastic. It’s also rechargeable like the Doxy Die Cast 3R but is $50 more expensive than the Doxy Die Cast.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I would rate the Doxy Die Cast 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I’m glad I chose to buy the Doxy Die Cast since it’s a very powerful massager that can provide me with multiple orgasms in just one session, even though it’s not cordless.
